A bill “Environmental Impact Expert Assessment” will be submitted for the consideration of National Assembly of Armenia late in 2013. In case this bill is adopted, it will replace RA Law “On Environmental Impact Expert Assessment” in force from 1995. “Environmental Impact Expert Assessment” bill will be submitted in package. These amendments assume amendments in RA Code “On Subsoil”, Code on Administrative Offences, Code on Administrative Procedure, Criminal and Civil Codes, and RA Law “On Environmental Control”. RA Law “On Environmental Impact Expert Assessment” doesn’t regulate expertise process. Each piece of paper can be submitted to the expertise as a project. As a result, a new bill needs to be developed,” said Arthur Grigoryan, Lawyer and representative of “Teghout Support” at EcoLur Press Club, “where the full cycle will be described what and how should undergo the expertise.” This statement was made in the course of the premiere of the new film by EcoLur “Features of National Expertise”. He reminded that at the first this bill was submitted to the National Assembly 2012, but the public opposed to it and held a protest demonstration near the building of the parliament. Then the bill was sent for amendments and additions and public representatives were included into the working group.
