In 2011-2012 the sown area of agricultural crops made up 286.700 and 304.200 ha respectively, i.e. the purposeful use of plough lands has increased making up in 2011 63.8% and 67.9% in 2012. As compared with the last year the sown areas increased by around 17.500 ha in 2012, as the Agriculture Ministry informs.
According to operative data, the sown areas expanded in 2013 reaching 321,000-322,000 ha. This year for the first time in the Armenian history the purposeful use of plough areas will reach 72%, while the increase in sown areas will drastically change the map of land areas with agricultural significance.
