Why aren’t ecotourism, organic agriculture or other fields that may seriously benefit to Armenia, developed in Armenia? In Gyumri Aarhus Center Coordinator Gevorg Petrosyan’s opinion, the reason is the authorities’ desire to make income quickly. “Such programs need investments today, while the incomes may be ensured only after 10-30 years. The authorities invest money only in such businesses, which bring income today,” Gevorg Petrosyan told EcoLur and brought the examples of mines and SHPPs as a preferable source of quick income.
