Tashir Group and Inter RAO have signed an agreement of sale and purchase of electric energy assets in Armenia, as Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan said at the government meeting. Offshore-registered “Liormand Holdings Limited” company, which expressed its willingness to buy 100% shares of “Electrical Networks of Armenia” (ENA) is one of “Tashir Group” companies.
Not mentioning the name of the company Hovik Abrahamyan particularly said, “The Armenian authorities have applied to Samvel Karapetyan, President of “Tashir” Group and discussed the option of purchasing “Electrical Networks of Armenia” from “InterRAO”. Meeting our request within short timeframes “Tashir” Group negotiated and signed a contract with “InterRAO” Group to obtain energy assets in Armenia.
The Public Services Regulatory Committee has already given its consent to this transaction. Upon our request, “Tashi Group” has undertaken committed to introduce management style in line with international standards and to decrease technological and commercial losses. At the same, equally with the Government “Tashir Group” President Samvel Karapetyan expressed his willingness to compensate the difference between prices till 1 August 2016 for people spending up to 250 kW monthly and small businesses.
On average, 604,000 out of 766,899 subscribers use around 250 kW on monthly bases, which makes up approximately 79% of the population. We will compensate the price of 250 kW electricity for this section of the population and small business, while people spending more, I think, can afford themselves to pay off the difference in the electricity price.”
