It's planned to construct SHPP SHPP on the Dzoraget River. 'Dzoraget-4' SHPP will be constructed in a distance of 7 km from Katnarat Village. The SHPP building will be located on the left bank of the Dzoraget River immediately below the head section of currently operation 'Dzoraget-5' SHPP. There are already 'Katnarat', 'Dzoraget-5', 'Dzoraget-6' and 'Dzoraget' SHPPs constructed on the Dzoraget River, and the first three ones are cascade type. The discharge canal of one canal is the supply canal for the other SHPP. A total of 7600 km is used for three SHPPs. In this river section water intakes are implemented for different reasons, for which different hydrotechnical structures have been constructed. All this generates environmental load on the Dzoraget river, while the construction of 'Dzoraget-4' SHPP will increase this overload and the pipe will cover 13961 meters of the river area (20.83%). The SHPP construction project doesn't say anything about the construction of fish passway and installation of a fish-protecting net.
The project mentions the environmental flow has been set 0.2 cum/s, but it doesn't mention from where this flow will go into the river, if there is no fish passway planned. A water intake section will be constructed with water-falling dam, 2 settlers and the sediment load from one settler will be emitted back to the river. The local fish world is not described.
