On December 17 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Board of Directors approved Armenia's nomination as the venue for holding the EBRD Annual Meeting in Yerevan. The EBRD Board of Directors is also expected to vote on the issue in the near future, with the final results expected by the end of January 2020. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan posted about this on his Facebook page.

"High-level dialogue on topical issues and decisions on strategic development issues of the Bank is run at the EBRD Annual Meeting," Tigran Avinyan posted. It should be noted that the EBRD has a share in Lydian International Offshore Company in Amulsar Gold Mine. The Bank also finances energy projects in Armenia, including hydropower projects.
