Data Needed to Develop Goris Socio-ecological Policy Being Collected

The residents of Goris enlarged community, Syuniq Region have been involved in the process of developing a socio-ecological policy for the community. Within the framework of the "Social and Ecological Responsibility" project, meetings were held with the representatives of the population and local self-government body in Goris, Verishen and Qarahunj villages.

Project expert, PhD in Chemical Sciences, Roza Julhakyan presented to the participants of the meeting "the data collection tool-measure for the assessment of the socio-ecological policy", which describes the social, economic and environmental problems in Goris enlarged community. The expert discussed with the participants the strengths and weaknesses of the community, the prospects of overcoming obstacles to community development, and introducing alternative sectors in the economy.

The meetings in Sisian were initiated by “New Horizons” NGO, a member of Social and Ecological Consortium, and EcoLur Informational NGO.

The information on the socio-ecological situation in Goris Community will be presented next.
