

Public eminent domain has been recognized for the laying of electric cables of e "Masrik-1" solar photovoltaic plant in Arpunk settlement in Vardenis consolidated community, Gegharkunik Region.
"Masrik-1" solar photovoltaic power plant construction project is implemented by consortium of companies "Photovatio Renewable Ventures" B.V. (Fotowatio Renewable Ventures B.V., FRV) (Netherlands) - " FSL Solar S.L." (Kingdom of Spain).
The organization undertaking the planned activity "FRV MASRIK" CJSC. The financial investment of USD 38.4 million is carried out by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union (EU).
Arpunk settlement, which was part of Geghamasar consolidated community, was included in Vardenis consolidated community in 2021. For the implementation of "Masrik-1" project, the documents regarding the land areas recognized as public eminent domain from Arpunk have been transferred to the administrative center, and Arpunk residents are not aware of them.
Mayis Danielyan, Administrative Head of Arpunk settlement, noted, "Both now and in the past, the settlement was part of consolidated communities and all the paperwork was carried out by the representatives of the consolidated community."
In his conversation with EcoLur, one of the residents mentioned that he did not initially agree to give the land he used to the company.
It should be noted that "FRV MASRIK" CJSC was supposed to complete the construction of the station on July 1, 2022, but according to the circumstances presented by the company, the COVID-19 pandemic and war operations prevented the accomplishment of the works within the specified period. The deadline for the construction of the solar plant is set for September 1, 2023.
