New 7-Hectare Forest Park to Be Established in Yerevan; 1.773 Hectares of Land Allocated to Ministry of Environment

At its session on August 7, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved a draft decision entitled “On Securing and Granting the Right of Gratuitous Use of Immovable Property.”

According to the draft law, a 1.773-hectare land plot, owned by the Republic of Armenia and located in Yerevan’s Norq-Marash administrative district, adjacent to G. Hovsepyan Street, with a cadastral value of 1,044,444,159 AMD, will be granted to the Ministry of Environment under the right of gratuitous use.

This land will be transferred to “ArmForest” State Non-Commercial Organization under the Ministry, with the goal of changing its designated purpose to forest land.

The Ministry of Environment has announced plans to implement programs aimed at improving the quality of life for Yerevan residents in the designated area. The initiative will include afforestation, forest restoration, and maintenance work, ultimately resulting in the creation of a new forest park spanning approximately 7 hectares within the city.
