In the village of Mets Ayrum, Lori Region, just 50 meters from Nahatak tailing dump, there is a family of three minor children who regularly fall ill and the fruit and vegetables grown in the house are not suitable for use. Oleg Dulgaryan, President of Center for Community Mobilization and Support, wrote on his Facebook page, calling on relevant bodies and ordinary citizens to help, in particular, to compensate for the harm done to the family by joint efforts and to move the infants to a safer area.
“In this house, in Lori Region, Mets Ayrum Village, just 50 meters from Nahatak tailing dump, there are three minor children who constantly fall ill and the fruits and vegetables grown in the house are not suitable for use. The children of this house occasionally play on the shore of the tailing dump, as the tailing dump is not fenced. The father of the children, Harutyun Danielyan, a refugee from Erkej Village, Shahumyan Region in Artsakh, no longer knows what to do. There is no other apartment to move to a slightly safer area. The house is on sale, but no one buys it, of course,” Dulgaryan posted.
