"New Opportunities of Development for Communities": EcoLur's New Film on Sustainable Development of Communities

"EcoLur" presents "New Development Opportunities for Communities" video made within the framework of "Social and Ecological Responsibility" project. Representatives of the local self-government bodies and local NGOs, the active population and the project experts speak about the prospects, opportunities and expectations for the implementation of the socio-ecological policy developed during the project.

The film emphasizes the active participation of the residents in the process of developing the socio-ecological policy and that of the local self-government bodies, which is the main guarantee for their investment in the five-year policy development programs. There is an opportunity to reduce the existing socio-environmental risks in the communities through policies, to bring the relations with business and the Government to a new level.

The film's possible conclusion is that the policy will enable the development of alternative business sectors, mitigate or eliminate the negative impact, and protect the socio-environmental rights of communities.

“Social and Ecological Responsibility” project is carried out by the NGOs involved in "Social-Ecological Consortium” - “Center for Community Mobilization and Support”, “Martuni Women’s Community Council”, “New Horizons”, “EcoLur” and “Forests of Armenia” NGOs within the frameworks of The Data for Accountable and Transparent Action (DATA) project.

The contents of DATA Project are the sole responsibility of “Center for Community Mobilization and Support” NGO and project partners and do not necessarily reflect the views of USAID, EPF, and DATA Consortium.
