A number of human rights and environmental non-governmental organizations issued a statement demanding RA government to abandon Amulsar mining project.
In her conversation with the Aysor.am reporter, Inga Zarafyan, President of "EcoLur" Informational NGO, said that their further actions will depend on the situation.
According to him, now the movement against the Amulsar project is gathering new momentum, because there are very serious arguments about the danger of this project.
"If Amulsar is developed, the security level will decrease. Thousands of tons of waste containing toxic materials will be stored in the project area. As a result of military operations, not only the territory of Jermuk will be poisoned, but also the territories of Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat, and Lake Sevan.
She again emphasized that the justifications of the government and "Lydian" do not inspire faith.
"What they presented are only promises, no justification, no facts are given, on which we can rely and say that this program can be useful for us. Besides that, there have been no actual objections to our justifications about risks," Inga Zarafyan said.
