Syunik Regional Criminal Investigation Department has rejected to initiate a criminal case on the crime report submitted by the Pan-Armenian Environmental Front against Tashtoun Community Head Henrik Gabrielyan, Syunik Region.
Reminder: on 24 August the Pan-Armenian Environmental Front submitted a crime report to Public Prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan and Special Criminal Investigation Department Head Vahram Shahinyan demanding to take measures and to stop the auction of the land area at 117/1 Vsot, Tashtoun Community, Syunik Region and to bring people to justice.
“AT Metals” LLC was constructing an experimental plant for extracting gold and polymetals from ore without any permitting documents in the administrative territory of Tashtoun community, Syunik Region.
The crime report was rejected on the grounds that Tashtoun community head’s action stopped to pose danger.
“The person who committed for the first time a not grave or medium-gravity crime can be exempted from criminal liability, if it turns out that as a result of the change of the situation this person or the committed act is no longer dangerous for the society,” the resolution says.
