ANPP Stopped: Planned - Preventative Repair Works Launched

The stoppage of the 2nd power unit of ANPP started on May 15, 2021, at 00:25, the power unit was disconnected from RA power system at 11:45. The nuclear power plant was shut down for 141 days for an annual planned precautionary repair, which is due to the unprecedented amount of work in the final phase of the ANPP Unit 2 lifetime extension program, as the official website of ANPP informs.

About 400 specialists from Russia, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and other countries, who have extensive experience in repairing nuclear power plant systems and equipment, will take part in the planned works. The specialists of the Nuclear Safety Regulatory Committee of the Republic of Armenia also have a special role in the process.
