As we learn from the official website of RA Investigative Committee, in the result of urgent investigative and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case investigated in Berd Investigative Division of Tavush Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee three persons were arrested; one of them – on suspicion of transportation of timber from trees felled illegally, two – on suspicion of using violence against police officers and forestry staff.
According to the Committee’s press release, while moving the truck without a plate number, loaded with timber to the specially protected area by the police officers at the area of “Artsvaberd forestry” branch of “ArmForest” SNCO some residents of Ttujur village in Gegharkunik Region hindered the movement of the mentioned truck, as well as scolding and pulling the police officers and forestry staff, threatening to use violence against those who were moving the truck hindered the police officers and forestry staff carrying out their service duties.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Note: Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
