RA Prosecutor's office Filed Report Because of High Air Atmospheric Pollution in Large Towns in Armenia

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia has studied the state of compliance with the requirements set in the field of protection of atmospheric air quality and the maximum permissible concentrations of air pollutants in the territory of Armenia.

The study showed that numerous cases of exceeding the maximum permissible concentrations or concentrations of air pollutants were recorded in Yerevan city, in a number of large towns of the republic, in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Alaverdi, Hrazdan, Ararat. With some deviations, the picture is almost the same in Gyumri, Vanadzor, Alaverdi, Hrazdan, Ararat.

Pollution is due to industrial processes, operation of vehicles, some construction and agricultural factors, lack of green areas.

Considering the importance of the issue, its direct impact on the health of the population, a report was submitted by the Prosecutor General's Office to RA Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body.
