On August 2, 2023, a solemn event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of CENS and the 70th birthday of CENS founder, Doctor, Professor Armen Saghatelyan took place at the Presidium of RA National Academy of Sciences.
Welcoming the attendees, academician Ashot Saghyan, President of NAS RA, highlighted Armen Saghatelyan's scientific research activity, his contribution to the commercialization and innovation of research. Lilit Sahakyan, Director of CENS, noted that in the difficult and dark 90s for Armenia, Armen Saghatelyan founded CENS, which gained national and international recognition 30 years later.
Lilit Sahakyan emphasized that Armen Saghatelyan was the founder of the school of Environmental Sciences in Armenia. In memory of Armen Saghatelyan, a youth summer school on the topic of environmental sciences is being held for the third year already. This year's theme of the school is "Environmental Sciences. Environment and Food”.
