Roads and Bridges Collapsed, Settlements Flooded as a Result of Debed River Flooding

The National Crisis Management Center of Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Lori Regional Crisis Management Center received many alarms from 00:40 on May 26, 2024 regarding the incidents caused by the flooding of the Debed River.

As a result of the flooding of the Debed River, the 31st km of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi section of M6 highway was flooded and a section with a length of about 50 m collapsed. A number of houses were flooded on Yerkatughai street in Ayrum station.

The bridge over the Debed River on the way to Qarkop settlement of Alaverdi community was destroyed. The settlement is flooded.

The bridge on the Debed River on the way to Akhtala settlement is flooded.

The bridge connecting Sanahin station to Alaverdi Town was completely destroyed.

As a result of the flooding of the river in the Shnogh-Teghut section, the road was completely destroyed.

The road completely collapsed in several sections in Kobair-Dzoraget township section of the M6 road in Pambak community.
