During the session of the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environmental Protection held on November 4, the issue of effective waste management was discussed.
In particular, the Committee reviewed at the second reading and gave a positive conclusion to the package of draft laws proposing amendments and additions to Law “On Waste” and to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Armenia.
The adoption of these drafts is expected to prevent the operation of illegal waste disposal sites, while those responsible for authorized disposal sites, including community leaders, will be more consistent in ensuring proper management and operation of these locations.
