The official website of Nature Protection Ministry informs the positive opinion of the environmental expertise on the construction of “Khachaghbyur-2” project was considered null and void based on Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan’s order. The ground for this order is the provision of RA Law “On Environmental Impact Expert Assessment” (Article 11, Part 5) and the decision of government no. 701-Ն dated on 08.05.2008. The Minister also took into consideration the proposal made by the working group, which examines the situation connected with “Khachaghbyur-2”, particularly alienation of public areas for construction, determination of borders of specially protected territories, “Hazel” and “Ijevan” state reserves, and assessment of probably caused damage. In case of any guilt, the employees of “Environmental Expertise” SNCO will be brought to justice.
