New technical requirements will be posed to the equipment installed in small hydropower plants starting from late 2014. The requirements will be binding both for newly constructed, rehabilitated and re-equipped SHPPs. The technical requirements will be based on the results of examining international experience, as the measure program of the government for 2014 says. Under this source, the standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission will be applied, which will be implemented, when the executive will adopt the draft resolution of the Armenian Government “On establishing technical requirements posed to equipment installed in small hydropower plants” in the third week of November in 2014.
