In the session held on July 12, RA National Assembly adopted the bill on taking an additional 70 million cubic meters of water from Lake Sevan in the second reading and with 65 votes in favor and 23 against. Thus, up to 240 million cubic meters of water will be released from Lake Sevan instead of 170 million cubic meters defined by law. It should be noted that Lake Sevan Preservation Expert Committee of NAS RA issued a negative conclusion to the project.
