The statement that Lake Sevan is in a good condition is a lie. As a matter of fact the state of the lake is deteriorated by the indicators vital for the lake. Expert Seyran Minasyan from the Institute of Chemical Physics of NAS RA gives explanations based on the official data of environmental impact assessment of Nature Protection Ministry from 2010 to 2014.

During 4 -5 years the concentration of organic substances (under OC integral indicator) in the water of Lake Sevan reached 3-4 category accounting for 60% of the lake.
(Note: the salmon can’t grow in the water with 3-4 category pollution (trout etc.).

The presented official figures show the disastrous state of Sevan ecosystem and particularly water quality.

We would like to draw the attention to the data, which directly show: the lake is getting destroyed. We are waiting for response from interested ministries and departments, both committees on Lake Sevan, Nature Protection Ministry, Territorial Administration Ministry and administration of Gegharkounik Region, and eventually Lake Sevan National Park.
