RA General Prosecutor's Office has initiated a criminal case on the falsification of the data of "Dzoragyugh-1" and "Dzoragyugh-3" SHPPs.
In this connection, RA Ministry Environment informs, “In April 2012, Environment Minister Romanos Petrosyan sent a letter to RA Prosecutor General to study the data on the water use permit of the LLC operating a small hydropower plant and to proceed with it accordingly.
In particular, State Interests Protection Department of RA General Prosecutor's Office found out that the company operating a small hydroelectric power plant in Gegharkunik region submitted a request to Environment Ministry on 28.10.2020 to prolong the term of water use permits № 000366 and № 000367 issued on 16 November 2015.
As a result of the latter's assessment, it was found out that there were discrepancies between the water use permits submitted by the company and the water use permits registered in the State Cadastres, Registers, and Monitoring Unit of Department of Licenses, Permits and Compliances of Environment Ministry.
Considering that during the investigation, sufficient information was obtained indicating the existence of features for the falsification of a right-reserving document by the forger in person or by another person and there is a clarification of the circumstances related to the case through a complete, objective and comprehensive investigation, a criminal case has been initiated in t Department for Protection of State Interests of RA General Prosecutor's Office under Article 325 (1) of RA Criminal Code, and its preliminary investigation has been assigned to RA Investigative Committee.
