In February 2022, the amateur fishing season started in Armenia, RA Environment Ministry informs. Environment Minister Hakob Simidyan has recently signed an order on setting the permissible quantities and the duration of fishing for social purposes in the wetlands of the Republic of Armenia for 2022 (amateur fishing).
The decree stipulates that it is forbidden to catch crawfish from Lake Sevan, as well as during its breeding season. The prohibition of fishing also applies to the species living in the water-covered areas of the Republic of Armenia, which were not defined in the decree.
