RA Environment Ministry has set the amount of water intake from Lake Sevan for irrigation in 2022 for up to 135 million cubic meters instead of the proposed 170 million cubic meters. The press release disseminated by the ministry says:
"Taking into account the forecast on the elements of spring floods in the rivers of Armenia for 2022 by "Hydro-meteorological and Monitoring Center" SNCO and the volume of reservoirs as of May 18, 2022, as well as the fact that about 40 million m3 of water can be provided by Mkhchyan 2 and Ranchpar 2 pumping stations, the ministry considers it expedient to set the amount of water intake from Lake Sevan for irrigation to 135 million cubic meters for 2022."
