The fish farm belonging to "MARY FISH" LLC will expand its activities in Marmarashen settlement of Masis community, Ararat Region. On December 30, 2022, RA Environment Minister Hakob Simidyan issued a positive conclusion to the preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) application of the company for the reconstruction/expansion of the fish farm at 14 Yerevan-Meghri highway, Marmarashen community, Ararat Region.
According to the conclusion, the company plans to build an additional 41 fish breeding ponds in the area adjacent to the activity, on the plot (2.7925 ha) located at 14 Yerevan-Meghri Street, Marmarashen community. The total number of ponds after expansion will make up 137.
After the expansion, the annual production capacity of the fish farm will account for about 865 tons. According to studies, 132 kg of nitrogen and 25 kg of phosphorus are released into the environment for every ton of fish produced.
