

Reconstruction works of the Spandaryan Canal in Syunik Region have launched. The official launch ceremony took place on September 18, 2025, in Sarnakunq Village. The reconstruction is being implemented by “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund, financed by the Fund’s French affiliate. The project is partially co-financed by the Armenia office of the World Food Programme.
According to “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund, the reconstruction of the approximately 36.4 km-long Spandaryan Canal is planned to be carried out in three phases. In the first and second phases, the most damaged 18.7 km section of the canal will be restored. As a result, water will reach the communities of Tsghuk, Sarnakunk, Spandaryan, and Angeghakot. During the subsequent two phases, two more communities will be provided with water supply.
