In various international bodies Azerbaijan keeps on accusing Armenia the monitoring they allegedly conducted showed the pollution in Kura and Aras Rivers is rather high, while the reason is the Armenian party.
In reply to these allegations, the Armenian Party stated these data don’t comply with reality.
Several years ago the Center for Noopshere Ecological Studies of NAS RA also conducted studies in the Debed River and stated this river doesn’t pollute the water reservoirs of neighboring countries. “Our rivers don’t pollute the transboundary river basins of both the Kura and Aras. There are rivers, which are polluted in our territory locally, but they don’t violate any international provision due to self cleaning,” said in his interview Center Director Armen Saghatelyan.
