The Arpa River starts from the springs of Zangezour and Vardenis, it flows into the Aras River in the territory of Nakhijevan. The river length is 126 km, while its length in Armenia is 90 km. “Areni HPP” is constructed on this river by “Areni HPP” CJSC, the derivation length of which is 4*30.0 meters, “Jermuk HPP-2” is constructed by “Jermuk Hydrotech” LLC, the derivation length of which is 3484.0 meters, “Arpa” SHPP is constructed by “Arpa-Energia” LLC, derivation length of which is 3150 meters. These SHPPs pipe a total river area of 13111 meters, which makes up 10.40% of the river.
