The state of Yerevan Lake is disastrous because of high concentration of chromium. Under the annual report by “Environmental Impact Monitoring Center” SNCO for 2012, the average annual concentration of chromium exceeded the maximum permissible concentration by 12.8 times. The average annual concentration of nitrite ion exceeded the maximum permissible concentration by 4.6 times while that of ammonium ion – 3.2 times. Consequently, the concentration of chromium in Yerevan Lake made up 640 mcg/l, the concentration of nitrite ion – 0.046 mgN/l. while that of ammonium ion – 0.046 mgN/l. Under EcoLur’s Ecological Risk Model, such concentration of chromium is disastrous for the lake.
