The Armenian Prosecutor General's Office Department for State Interests initiated criminal cases on the facts of irregularities in cleaning of the coastal territories of Lake Sevan. To recall, the flooded areas of the lake are cleaned of trees, bushes, garbage etc.
Surveys conducted on the basis of Mass Media reports revealed that the "Wild Gate" Ltd, "Tri Gren" Ltd. in 2009 and H. Eloyan and Sons Company won the competitions announced by the RA Nature Protection Ministry in 2006-2008 to clean and uproot the trees and bushes remained in the water after the level of Lake Sevan had increased as well as other works by means of the financing received from the State Budget. Inspections revealed that Tri Gren and H. Eloyan and Sons did not work properly and in line with the contact. Nevertheless, the employees of the National Park of Sevan and the Nature Protection Ministry admitted and affirmed the unperformed work.
On the basis of the data revealed, criminal cases were initiatives of the following articles of the Armenian Criminal Code (179 part 2 point 3 and part 3 point 1, 214 part 2, 308 and 315 part 2). The case was submitted to the Chief Investigation Department of the Armenian Police for inquiry.
