Agriculture Ministry tabled a number of proposals in regard with suspension of illegal felling. Still from the last year Agriculture Ministry has been drawing up a new draft resolution according to which population living next to forest areas is planned to obtain the timber at a price of forest rates. If a villager living next to forest has to pay 1200 AMD for one square meter of timber, after adopting this resolution they will have to pay only 600 AMD. The third action according to which illegal forest cutting can be stopped is aimed at improving the conditions of employees who protect forest. At this moment the salary of forestry officers doesn’t even make up 50,000 AMD, they don’t have any guns, car or even a horse, or a uniform.
