Between October 8–12, the concentration of dust particles in Yerevan’s atmospheric air significantly exceeded the maximum allowable levels in several administrative districts, ranging from 1.1 to 4.7 times higher than the permitted limit.
According to the data of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center SNCO of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia:
In Kentron administrative district, the exceedance was 1.1–2.4 times;
in Arabkir district — 1.1–2.9 times;
in Nor Nork district — on October 8, 9, 10, and 11 — 1.9–4.7 times;
in Shengavit district — 3.4 times.
The highest level of pollution was recorded on October 9:
In Nor Nork district — 0.70 mg/m³, which exceeds the MAC 4.7 times;
in Shengavit district — 0.504 mg/m³, 3.4 times above the norm.
It should be noted that in Shengavit district, the October 9 indicator was about 11 times higher than that of the previous day (0.045 mg/m³).
In the following days, the amount of dust decreased, though in certain areas, elevated levels persisted.
The content of nitrogen dioxide during the same period was mostly within the allowable limits. Only in Kentron district on October 9 was an increase recorded — 1.7 times higher compared to the previous day - after which a decreasing trend was observed.
The concentration of sulfur dioxide in Yerevan generally did not exceed the maximum allowable amounts, though in Shengavit on October 9 a noticeable increase was registered — up to 0.043 mg/m³, almost twice the indicator of October 8.
The amount of ground-level ozone in Yerevan’s atmospheric air from October 8–12, 2025 did not exceed the corresponding MAC.
At the same time, passive samplers installed in the areas adjacent to the Nubarashen landfill between October 5–12 showed sulfur dioxide exceedances of 1.7–3.2 times.
Similar, though milder exceedances were recorded in Kanaker-Zeytun (1.1 times), Nor Nork (1.4 times), Erebuni (1.2–2.1 times), Shengavit (1.1–1.6 times), Kentron (1.4 times), and Ajapnyak (1.4 times) administrative districts.
Reminder: during the night of October 9 to the morning of October 10, a fire broke out at the Nubarashen landfill.
It should also be noted that the fire at the Nubarashen landfill was contained on October 12 at 20:06.
