

RA Environment Ministry has rejected Lydian Armenia for issuing a water use permit from the Arpa River for Amulsar gold-bearing quartzite mining. The ministry informed Levon Galstyan, a member of "Armenian Environmental Front" initiative, about its decision on March 24.
The company expected to receive a water intake permit for 41.3 l/s from the Arpa River.
The application for a water use permit submitted by the company with its letter dated on January 27, 2021 for Amulsar gold-bearing quartzite mining by "Lydian Armenia" CJSC in the administrative territory of Jermuk Community, Vayots Dzor Region, for the implementation of water intake from the Arpa River in the amount of 41.3 l/s for industrial purposes in 2021 was rejected by the Minister of Environment with its decree N86-A dated on March 22, 2021,” the reply of the ministry says.
