

On June 5, on World Environment Day, Biodiversity Informational and Educational Center of Armenia, the EcoEpicenter, was opened at Institute of Botany of NAS RA after Armen Takhtajyan.
The President of NAS RA Radik Martirosyan congratulated everyone on the opening of EcoEpicenter, noting that a new stage of development is beginning at the Institute of Botany. He attached much importance to the role of the EcoEpicenter in educating new generations.
The event was attended by environmentalists, representatives of the scientific community, international organizations, visitors to the Yerevan Botanical Garden.
They got acquainted with the exhibits of the interactive exhibition of the newly opened center, the collection of living plants - biotopes, which represent the rich flora of Armenia. The staff of the EcoEpicenter presented the main goals of the center: biodiversity education, raising public awareness, organizing exhibitions, excursions, courses, lectures, attracting volunteers, collaborating with like-minded individuals, organizations, and studying the situation in Armenia.
The EcoEpicenter was established with the financial support of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Institute of Botany of NAS RA, the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and WWF-Armenia, as Informational-Analytic Center of NAS RA informs.
