New web page www.biodiversity.am was developed within the Twining project „Strengthened protection and sustainable use of biodiversity in Armenia in line with the European standards“, which is based on cooperation between institutions and experts from Armenia, Finland and the Czech Republic.
People interested in biodiversity in Armenia will find here all the information about the project, institutions involved, and in particular, its goals and activities. The website will be updated continuously and all the news about the project activities and their progress published regularly. Attached video interviews with representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Environment and other institutions can also give an idea of the scope and importance of the project. All relevant documents and outputs of the project will be published on the website as well.
Anyone can contact the project team via our website and send any comments or questions related to the presented activities. And now it´s also possible to follow the project progress on its Facebook page.
“We are happy to open a new communication channel for presenting importance and unique value of Armenian natural heritage. We hope to receive more feedback to our activities from public interested in nature conservation issues”, says Tomáš Růžička, public relations expert from the Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic.
The main goal of this two-year project is to strengthen conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in Armenia in line with international/EU standards. It is focused on changes in legislation and institutional support in the field of nature and biodiversity conservation. The project is implemented jointly by Nature Conservation Agency of the Czech Republic, Finnish Environmental Institute – SYKE, and Armenian Ministry of Environment.
