

On March 25, the 11th working meeting of "Platform for Coordination of Programs Aimed at Sustainable Management of Natural Pastures and Hayfields in the Republic of Armenia" took place in Yerevan, initiated by "Strategic Development Agency" NGO. Th representatives from the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia participated in the event, as well as representatives from Shirak, Syunik, and Gegharkunik regional administrations, and local and international NGOs.
The platform was founded in 2018 by Strategic Development Agency (SDG) NGO, the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), the Environmental Program and the CARMAC II Project of RA Economy Ministry. Since its establishment, the platform has expanded its membership to include more than 20 organizations, local and international institutions, programs and state government bodies.
The workshop also discussed the projects implemented by other member institutions of the platform towards sustainable pasture management and improvement. Naire Yeritsyan, Coordinator of “Living Landscapes of Armenia for Market Development” (LILA) project, presented the work carried out within the framework of the project towards sustainable pasture management.
At the end of the meeting, a ceremony of signing a memorandum of accession to the platform of WWF Armenia was held. WWF Armenia signed a memorandum of accession, contributing to the strengthening of cooperation between state bodies, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders in the field of pasture restoration and sustainable management.
