As part of "Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia" (LILA) project, during a two-day media visit on May 21–22, implemented by WWF-Armenia) in cooperation with “Strategic Development Agency” NGO, journalists visited Yenoqavan and Gosh in Tavush and Debed, Dsegh and other settlements in Lori.

With co-financing from “LILA” project, “Arevi Gosh” hotel was established in the village of Gosh in 2023.

The main visitors of “Arevi Gosh” hotel are nature-based tourists.

The hotel currently provides 8 jobs for local residents. The community also benefits from the hotel’s activity, since tourists also use many services offered in the community and consume local products.

With the project’s support, a drinking trough and a 15kW solar station were built in Margahovit, Lori Region. According to the residents of the village, problems used to arise in distant pastures, which are now solved due to the absence of a drinking trough.

The energy from the solar station is also directed to the energy supply of the administrative building and the village kindergarten.

The idea of engaging in the tourism business was born in 2019 for the couple David and Lilit. “Chamich” guesthouse of Debed village belongs to them. They bought a small village house and turned it into a guesthouse.

LILA project also has a beneficiary group in Dsegh Village in Lori. Here, works were carried out on building a solar station, thermal insulation and renovation of the municipality’s roof, installation of an energy-efficient heating system, construction of a trail and a drinking trough.

"Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia" (LILA) project also supported “Wow Glamping” guesthouse in Dsegh and “Loreni” tea house.

The media tour continued in Yeghegnut. The media representatives participated in the release event of Caucasian red deer into nature. The initiative was realized within the framework of “Reintroduction of the Caucasian Red Deer in Armenia” project.

This is the first time that red deer are being returned to Lori’s nature.
