

On April 10, 2026, at the invitation of Yerevan Basic School No. 191 named after Davit Hovsepyan, EcoLur team conducted an eco-educational meeting with 9th-grade students.

The meeting was organized within the framework of “Safe and Secure Educational Environment” initiative for 2025–2026 academic year, led by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. The topic of the meeting was “Environmental Safety and Environmental Disasters."

The session was attended by Victoria Burnazyan,Deputy President of “EcoLur” Informational NGO, and journalist Kristina Ter-Matevosyan. Victoria Burnazyan presented the main causes and consequences of climate change, highlighting the interconnection between climate change, biodiversity loss, and natural disasters.

Key topics discussed with students included:climate change adaptation and mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and natural disaster risk reduction.


Following the discussion, students participated in an interactive activity, applying their newly acquired knowledge. Through a game-based exercise, they analyzed the economic benefits of a hypothetical deforestation-based investment project, alongside its environmental impacts and associated natural disaster risks. After an active and engaging debate, the students concluded that forest conservation is more important.
