In their letter to Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, a group of Armenian environmentalists demand that the two-storied building that is being constructed in Gilan, a part of the Khosrov National Reserve, should be demolished.

In 2007 the status of Gilan was reduced to partial preserve, June 23 2011 it was given back the status of reserve.

The ecologists are ready to help to pull down the building and to monitor and restore almost 300 historical monuments located in the Khosrov National Reserve.

The letter has been sent by the Ecological Alliance - an association comprising some 45 NGOs.

To remind, the Government's decision to reduce Gilan's status and to construct a building in its territory caused a wave of protests among environmentalists. The Nature Protection Ministry said it would be a visit center, the ecologists said it was supposed to be a restaurant.  The first report about the construction was received in 2008 while the decision to stop the project was passed in 2010.
