The Pan-Armenian Environmental Front (PEF) civic initiative has beaten an alarm signal that illegal tree felling has been carried out in Shikahogh state reserve and its adjacent areas. “According to the information we have received, tree felling has been carried out in section 10 of the reserve. We pass this alarm signal to Nature Protection Ministry and “ArmForest” for them to find out the ownership of these areas, to detect the violations and to take proper measures to enhance control in all forests in Armenia,” the initiative says.
