On 13 July, at 14:43, an alarm signal was received that grass-covered area is burnt down in the area next to Araqsashen Village, Syunik Region. As it turned out around 100 ha of grass cover is on fire, out of which 2.5 ha is in the area of Arevik National Park. The nidus of the fire is located in rocky section and a decision was made to stop fire extinguishing works given safety reasons and to continue them at 06:00 on 14 July.
On 14 July, at 16:10, one fire brigade, the operative group of regional rescue department, 25 employees of “Arevik” National Park, 50 servicemen and 15 locals arrived at the scene.
