From 15 to 16 August the employees of Yerevan Botanical Garden burnt down the piles of dried branches to prevent the danger of its further fire. According to the official statement of Institute of Botany of NAS RA, they have in prior warned the Crisis Management Center of RA Ministry for Emergency States. “This measure is considered to be controlled fire. Fire brigades arrived by mistake and when they found out that fire is controlled, they drove back,” the official statement says.
Reminder: According to the official information of RA Ministry for Emergency States, on 15 August there was fire in Botanical garden, which was isolated at 19:31 and extinguished at 20:46: around 2 ha of vegetation cover has been burnt down.
