Lori Regional Criminal Investigation Department of RA Criminal Investigation Committee has initiated a criminal case on illegal tree felling in Dsegh.
In its turn, RA Culture Ministry addressed a letter in reply to EcoLur's enquiry, which says, '...50-year-old trees have been growing in Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum House yard, which were posing a threat to the building. Tow of 15 tree have already falled down. The administration of the museum addressed a relevant letter to the administration of Lori Region and the territorial division of environmental inspection. Relevant conclusions were given on the need to cut down the trees and to plant new ones. Specialists were invited and machinery was hired to cut down the trees posing most danger,' the Culture Ministry letter says.
