The World Animal Day was marked on 4 October. In May 1931 at a congress of the International Animal Protection Congress in Florence Italy, his proposal to make 4 October World Animal Day universal, was unanimously accepted and adopted as a resolution.
It should be mentioned that on these days Armenian animal lovers headed by “Dingo” team held a protest demonstration in front of the building of the Armenian Government raising the problem of stray animals. The animal lovers were demanding from the government to develop a law “On Protection of Pet Animals”, to exercise control over the activities of “Unigraph-X” LLC, which deals with the neutralization and sterilization of stray animals and to envisage new tender, which will have mass sterilization instead of mass killing.

“We are demanding that annual funds taken from the budget for the regulation of the number of stray animals serve only for mass sterilization. By paying taxes we don’t want to take part in the mass slaughter,” says the letter of the animal lovers signed by 3000 citizens.
