Ministry of Nature Protection
Responding to the news disseminated on the social networks on the construction process in the area adjacent to 'Basalt Organ' and 'Nameless Cave' column-like basalt monuments of nature, RA Nature Protection Ministry informs that the passports of the mentioned monuments were adopted with RA Nature Protection Minister's decree no. 274-Ն dated on 18 August 2017, which sets the features of proper preservation and use regime in line with RA Law 'On Specially Protected Areas of Nature'. The business in hand, the wooden pavilion, is located in a distance of 12 meters from the mentioned monuments on a privatized land area, on the left side of the road and on the right bank of the Azat River.
Currently, Nature Protection and Soil Inspection Body of RA Nature Protection Ministry has initiated administrative proceedings and reached a decision to obligate the developer to stop the construction works carried out in the area near the monument till the environmental impact expert assessment. It should be mentioned that the significance of the privatized land area is agricultural, while the operational significance is plough land, which means no construction works can be carried out there.
