On February 4 an alarm signal was beaten that dead fish was detected in the Hrazdan River. On February EcoLur's journalist was taking photos of the dead fish in the Hrazdan River, when she found a dead craw several meters away the river. The corpse of the craw was still warm, while the beak had blood spots. The blood spots were not dry. The bird has no injuries. The fishermen on the spot assumed that the bird had eaten some fish, got poisoned and died.”
With naked eye one can see a huge amount of dead fish in the significant part of the Hrazdan River. Under the fishermen, the fish could die because of the leakage from the nearby plants. One of them insisted chlorine leak took place. 'I can smell chlorine from the water and the fish I caught,' he said. In this regard, 'Yerevan Jur' CJSC station sanitary zone head Manuk Beglaryan said that have no connection with the river.
'Our pipes run to Shengavit under the ground and we can't have any chlorine leak into the river,' he mentioned. In many fishermen's opinion, the reason is the industrial wastes of 'Rusal-Armenal' CJSC plant, which are dumped into the river thus poisoning the biodiversity.
EcoLur has sent the craw to the lab to find out the cause of the death.
