Mink Fur Production Founded in Armenia. The Nature Protection Ministry issued a positive opinion to “Mink Breeding Company” LLC for “Mink breeding project”. The breeding site will be located in the surroundings of Lermontovo Village, Lori Region, where annually 5000 minks will be bred. The minks will be slept with carbon dioxide, which is not considered to be cruel, under the project.
The project misses the part of the mink fur processing facility. It’s common knowledge that such processing requires special cleaning equipment to reduce the pollution of the environment, particularly that of the water. This very part should have undergone environmental expertise, which was supposed to be submitted in the EIA of the project and be discussed, was missing, but it can be found among the requirements of the environmental expertise, “The EIA should also include”
· Technical and technological solutions of the activities,
· Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the construction impact on all the components of the environment – air, water, soil etc,
· Measures aimed at preventing and reducing the impact on the environment.”
