On June 19 the new nursery yard was opened in Yerevan Botanical Garden with joint efforts of WWF Armenia and Institute of Botany of NAS RA.
“The establishment of the nursery yard has three objectives: first – rehabilitation of 70 ha forest territory, second - creating new sources of income for the local population and third – establishing nursery yard for forest. Here we have around 22 species, out of which 8 species are valuable and endangered species. Currently we have around 200,000 plants in this area,” Arthur Alaverdyan told EcoLur.
The nursery yard has been established in the frames of the project funded by WWF Switzerland. The establishment of the nursery yard cost 20,000 Euros.
